Who we are
PDLQ Youth Football and Cheer is a nonprofit organization, established in 1993, dedicated to providing a safe, positive, and supportive environment for young athletes to learn teamwork, develop skills, and build character through football and cheerleading.
Key Points:
• We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, operating solely on donations and fundraising.
• Our mission is to foster community pride, encourage personal growth, and teach life lessons that extend beyond sports.
• We participate in the Southern CA JAAF League and, in 2025, supported 170 players across 7 teams.
• Registration for returning players begins February 1st, and for new players on February 15th each year.
• Our programs include conditioning camps, voluntary training, and official league practices and games from spring through fall.
• Home games are played at Palm Desert High and La Quinta High, with practices at PD Civic Center Park and La Quinta Sports Complex.
• All board members and coaches are volunteers, undergo thorough background checks, and often contribute personally to support players.
• Player safety is prioritized with age and weight-based divisions: Jr. Micro (6-8), Micro (8-10), Jr. Peewee (9-11), and Peewee (10-13).
PDLQ is committed to shaping young athletes into responsible, community-minded adults, emphasizing the importance of giving back and lifelong character development..
