PDLQ Rules of Conduct
The PDLQ Rules of Conduct are adopted as part of the PDLQ By-Laws. These rules may be changed when the Chapter Board deems necessary by a two-thirds majority vote at any regularly scheduled or special Board Meeting called for that purpose.
Failure of any Board Member, Head Coach, or Team Staff Member to follow the PDLQ Rules of Conduct may result in penalties as outlined in the Chapter Rules, at the discretion of the Board.
This may include suspension or termination of rights to attend practice or games.
The President, along with the Commissioner, will present to the Board of Directors the names of those being considered for suspension. All suspensions will follow SCJAAFC Bylaws per Article VIII Section C of the SCJAAFC Rules and Bylaws.
The Commissioner has the right to revoke Field Passes for any violation of a Conference or Chapter Rule. Field Passes must be shown upon request and remain visible at all times. Any person on the field without their designated pass will be subject to:
First offense: One (1) week suspension
Second offense: Field Passes revoked
Parent(s) on the field without a pass may be suspended if they refuse to leave when requested.
Board of Directors / COACHES Code of Conduct
Upon becoming a Member of PDLQ, each Member is required to read, acknowledge, and agree to abide by the following Code of Conduct. Violations will be taken seriously and discipline will be applied accordingly, including periods of suspension up to removal from the Association, as decided by a vote of the Board.
Respect
Treat everyone within PDLQ with respect at all times, including Board Members, Coaches, Volunteers, Parents, and Players/Cheerleaders. As a general guideline, always treat others as you would expect to be treated.
Follow Rules
The organization has established by-laws to be understood and followed by all Members. Any question of procedure or responsibility should first be clarified in the by-laws before action is taken. Secondary clarification can be found in the Junior All American Football Southern California Conference By-laws.
Use of Electronic Media
When using personal or organizational text messaging, email, voicemail, or social media including Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, and others, no disrespectful language or remarks will be used. This includes vague or suggestive language that may be interpreted as disrespectful by any member of the organization.
Professionalism
As a Member, you are a representative of the organization at all times, especially during games, competitions, and practices. You are expected to conduct yourself in a manner that does not bring a negative reputation or image to the organization. This includes the use of profanity, being unsportsmanlike to other teams, players, or referees, and excessive celebration.
Integrity
Be truthful and straightforward in all dealings with the organization. This includes disclosing any potential conflicts of interest, reporting any perceived violations in a professional manner, and being honest in all dealings regarding your position on the board and in the organization.
Confidentiality
Keep confidential all player or parent personal information, board member personal information, non-public league procedures, team strategies, and any other information that could be used against any individual or entity within the organization.
Commitment
Acceptance of a board member position requires a significant commitment of time and energy. If at any time you are or become unable to remain fully committed to your duties and responsibilities, you must immediately seek guidance from the board and/or resign from your position with reasonable notice so the organization may find a replacement.
Communication
As a Board of Directors, our main responsibility is to communicate effectively to manage the inner-workings of the organization. This includes listening to each board member's opinions and suggestions openly and respectfully, not interrupting others while they are speaking, making your point as concisely as possible, maintaining a reasonable speaking volume, and no unprofessional language or criticism will be tolerated.
Background Check
ALL COACHING STAFF shall complete a live scan background check as per So.Cal. JAAF Requirements.
